Chicago Theater Tickets

    Chicago is well known to have a bustling theater scene. So if you are visiting the Chicago area, plan on seeing a show downtown in one of the elegant venues that house local and national touring productions of various Broadway shows. Whether you are in the mood to see a full blown musical, straight play, or a funny family show, there is something for everyone here. Here are the most notable theaters that run along the district that house the popular productions.

The Privatebank Theater: One of the largest theaters currently in Chicago on West Monroe Street, hold a whopping 2016 happy audience members who are going to enjoy this year the show, “Hamilton”. As one of the oldest theaters in the area, dating back to the early 1900’s, you get a good dose of history walking around the ornate lobby with its beautiful historic fixtures.

Briar Street Theater:
This smaller venue, located on North Halsted Street, opened in the mid-80’s, and has many traveling shows that are quite popular. Right now you can check out “Blue Man Group” which has been running in Las Vegas for over twenty years now with it’s interesting percussion, inventive stage production, and amusing antics that are hard to even describe to someone who hasn’t seen this troupe in person.

Oriental Theater: Having a capacity of over 2,000 seats, the shows here are usually geared more towards family fare.
Right now Rodgers & Hammerstein's The King and I is showing, and upcoming production areSomething Rotten, An American in Paris and "Escape to Margaritaville" This old theater which was opened in the 1920’s as originally a movie house. It was renovated in the late 90’s to make it the perfect place to stage large scale productions that the whole family will love. It is located in the Ford’s Center For The Performing Arts on Randolph Street.

Cadillac Palace Theater: The home of Broadway, the Cadillac Palace Theatre hosts some of the most well loved and incredible shows ever written. With a seating capacity of over 2000, and a unique brass themed interior dating back to pre WWII era, the theater is steeped in history, and is an iconic location in the Chicago area.
Right now “Aladin ” is showing, and upcoming production are “Les Miserables”, “School of Rock - The Musical” and "Beautiful - The Carol King Musical"

Make sure, if you are in the mood to see any of these shows while you are in Chicago, to buy your tickets well in advance since they do sell out quite often.
